Hert

This project was very personal to me; I self published a collection of my partner's poetry and flash fiction pieces and paired with my own photography and photo manipulation. The name is a combination of her initials (H.E.R.) and a representation of processing painful experiences and using this analysis to fuel creative expression.

The images inside were originally going to be chosen from previously created works of mine, but I quickly realized the importance and power of having images directly influenced by their paired works. The success for me here was twofold; I created a consistent yet distinct visual language for the images, and I was able to showcase and understand another's work intimately.
