"Weirdo" Series
These are a few pieces that will be featured in an upcoming group exhibit titled "Weirdo"at the Urban Arts Gallery in Salt Lake City. They began because I had a very large scrap piece of particle board and needed some art therapy. I tried to ignore any pressure I felt to create something objective and instead made decisions about color and gestures momentarily, sometimes at random.
These illustrations are usually sourced from sketches I create, sometimes from old, worn out sketchbooks that deserve a digital resurrection. I use a combination of Adobe Photoshop and illustrator along with a Wacom drawing tablet.
Sketchbooks
Here is a look inside some of my personal sketchbooks. I am always using sketchbooks to jot down ideas, plan my day, and keep track of the latest gossip. They become fascinating time capsules and can be invaluable to not just making better art, but to organizing thoughts, feelings, and goals.
