8th Amendment Posters
These posters were part of a project examining the 8th amendment to the U.S. Constitution; barring cruel and unusual punishment to prisoners. I chose to highlight the humanity that is often forgotten when discussing and housing inmates, as well as the staggering amount of prisoners in U.S. penitentiaries.

My process began by examining the relation between the identities of a civilian and an inmate; then expressing these ideas in type and form.

Typography of the actual words was one way to communicate the contrast of these; the other being a set of "people" icons inspired by the work of Otto Neurath and the Isotype system.
